Have you been inspired by Game of Thrones?

Game of Thrones is the first novel in A Song of Ice and Fire, a popular series of fantasy and sci-fi novels by the American author George R. R. Martin. This now HBO hit has sky rocketed to the most talked about show to date. What is it about the show that’s so compelling that it can’t seem to leave our minds? It has some obvious hooks: Sex, nakedness, intrigue, sword fights and many deaths, but what has certainly indulged us, (By us the fashionistas) is the magnificent touch of wardrobe given to each character.
For those fashion obsessed who tune on every Sunday night for the epic elegance of game of thrones you might want to stick around.

Game of thrones has inspired so many people into creating medieval gowns with a modern twist. In the books, Martin doesn’t go into full detail of the amazing designs that the HBO Television production manage to bring to life. Not only does the show cast amazing actors and actresses but it's been consistently recognized by major professional awards for their visual aspect on television.

Fashionistas wait with contained breath to learn the fate of Starks the Lannisters and the rest of the 7 kingdoms, but if we're being honest, we're equally excited to peek what our favorite characters are wearing when all the drama goes down....
From the long silk dresses to the finest of jewelry, Game of thrones has capitalized with their fashion sense to fit our current trend. Many fashion shows around the world have taken some inspiration from the HBO hit to create their original pieces.

One designer that has shown the world his take on the Game of thrones fashion, is Paolo Sebastian. At Just Twenty six years of age, he has made his mark in the fashion industry with his skill and the scope of his creative vision. The young boy who learned to sew with his grandmother now heads a label that has become a national icon, captivating everyone with his crafted couture. Inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire, Sebastian has made a collection for the obsessive fashion fan girl.
Apart from the clothing fashion lines, jewelry designers have also taken it upon themselves to recreate pieces completely inspired to showcase and sell.

One particular company that has been a great success and a modern inspiration to the medieval series of Game of Thrones is Valyria Jewelry.

Inspired by Valyrian steel, a form of metal that was forged in the days of the mighty Valyrian Freehold, Valyria Jewelry, created in 2014 has been inspired to represent the combination of beauty, elegance, self-reliance and independence of modern spirit that Valyrian steel has.

The magical attributes that Valyrian steel is, can be recognized by its strength and lightweight in comparison to ordinary steel.
Known to kill a white walker Valyrian metal has also had other distinctive fashioned shapes besides swords. In today's fashion, Valyria Jewelry has utilized this form of magical steel, creating necklaces, bracelets, rings and chokers and even cremation pieces to showcase and grow their company.

Valyria Jewelry also knows how to defeat white walkers…with fashion.

Being new to the industry it didn’t take long for them to become popular and earn their name as one of the largest stainless steel jewelry manufacturer and distributor in Southern California.

I can go on for hours and pages on how fashion plays a big role and how we fashionistas find little things fascinating but in simple words and visual demonstrations I hope to catch the attention of the curious eye. These are just a couple of inspirations I have compelled into a mini blog series that will keep growing to help grow the fashion industry and spread beautiful art.
Inspiration works in many ways. I was inspired to write this blog on such elegance and knowledge that these talented individuals created in me. Maybe next time let that inner fan girl / fan boy out and be wild, you never know when you can be equally inspired.
